Principal Planner | 2015 - present | Providence, RI

Project manager for the Department's long-range planning initiatives with focus on redevelopment of post-industrial districts and equitable reinvestment in low-wealth urban neighborhoods. Crafts political strategy, designs and administers stakeholder engagement processes, selects and manages design consultants, secures grants and other resources, coordinates investment programs with public and private partners.

Sasaki Associates

Urban Planner / Designer | 2011 - 2015 | Boston, MA

As project manager, led all stages of master planning projects, including: project marketing and interviews, contract negotiation, client relations, project administration, accounting, and oversight of subconsultants. Ideated urban design concepts with hand sketches and digital techniques, crafted policy proposals, designed and administered web-based and in-person stakeholder engagement processes.

Concept design, site reconnaissance, and materials research for the Oranjestad Main Street Urban Design Plan: a (now completed) vision led by the Aruban Government to regenerate Oranjestad's main commercial street with a new tram and pedestrian-oriented street and plaza design.

 

Prince's Foundation for Building Community

Urban Design Intern | 2010 | Beijing, PRC

Conceptual design, drafting, 3D modeling, and diagramming for various projects. Contributed graphics to the Dazhuyuan Eco-village Master Plan pattern book, a participatory village planning project outside Hangzhou; and the Tangshan Jiaotong University Neighborhood Master Plan, a regeneration strategy for a 62-acre residential community that was destroyed in the 1976 Tangshan Earthquake.

Urban Edge

Street Ops

Founding Director | 2014 - 2017 | Boston, MA

Founding director of a collective of urban planners, designers, and urbanists that employs DIY, tactical interventions of the built environment to model enhancements to the community’s livability, social cohesion, and cultural landscape. Led the collective's steering committee, managed external partnerships, directed communication strategy, managed volunteer base, and directed project planning and implementation.

 

A Better Cambridge

Volunteer | 2012 - 2014 | Cambridge, MA

Organized for pro-growth advocacy group and pioneer of the growing YIMBY movement (Yes In My Back Yard).  Counteracted exclusionary, NIMBY (Not In My Back Yard) attitudes with positive campaigns for inclusive urbanism. Crafted social media campaigns, organized public fora, and assisted get-out-the-vote efforts.
