ULI Hines Competition
San Diego's East Village is a post-industrial warehouse district on the fringe of downtown. Our project, selected in 2010 as one of four finalists of the profession's premier student award competition, envisions the regeneration of the East Village as a food arts district. From a culinary arts school to a restaurant promenade dubbed "Eat Street" to a food waste recycling program, the plan investigates the design and economics of planning a food district from scratch.
